8th Annual Portland Urban Iditarod - Portland Urban Iditarod
In the Alaskan Iditarod, more than sixty dog sled teams race across the frozen tundra from Anchorage to Nome. In our urban version, teams of ‘dogs’ lead by a musher will pull their sleds (shopping carts) through some of Portland’s most scenic areas. These teams of barking humans must negotiate through the unrelenting and unforgiving dangers of Portland’s urban frontier.
As an incentive to run, dogs and mushers alike will have several ‘check points’ to replenish lost fluids and discuss tales of mayhem.

Finally.

After over a year I am finally finishing up my character boards. They have a nice frame on the back and are getting a clear varnish to protect them. They're looking good! Next they go to PushDot!

So I found this artist today and really enjoyed his photography. Two of his pieces were more of an inspiration for my BFA project.

What to do...

So today I finally heard back from the lady at the Zoo about an internship, and while I would love to jump right in and take the job I am scared. It is an unpaid position and probably wouldn't leave me time to work at my current job. This creates a problem! I NEED TO PAY RENT.

Maybe its about time to break down and get a loan...

On the better side of things I had coffee with a lady form LAIKA, she works in the story department and I had a great conversation with her. Did you know there is someone who has the job of just reading and finding children's literature to adapt into movies!! Anyways, I told her what I do and we talked about internships and all that. She said she would contact a few people for me and maybe during the summer I can do a few weeks of PA (??) work. Anything to get my foot in the door!

24 hrs just weren't enough. Now with 30 I have time for nothing but school and work.

For Bryson, and his love of clowns.

Found On Craigslist....

Seeking Adult Drunk Clown for 30th Birthday party (Portland, OR)

Reply to: gigs-1031445360@craigslist.org [?]
Date: 2009-02-11, 9:30PM PST

We need an Adult Drunk Clown who is good at getting drunk and stupid. No need to do any clown tricks, just hang out and drink a shit load. We will be hopping around to different bars/clubs downtown and want a clown to tag a long and drink heavily. Clown doesn't even need to socialize with anyone, just drink.
The birthday is on Friday, February 27th in downtown Portland. Oh, did I mention that the clown needs to get shit-faced. Don't worry, we will purchase all the drinks.

Please contact Steve via email if you have any questions or are interested.

another map in progress

Here is another kiva map. This one color codes the different items she sniffs on our walks while allowing you to compare stops. I like the way it looks now but plan on adding many more walks to it. I also think this one would make a neat installation. It could be real large across a whole wall.

more maps

This map outlines multiple paths of walk Kiva and I have done. All out walks end up tracing the streets/neigborhood which results in a sort of grid, that is where the inspiration for the squares came in.

Whats to come:

My next "map" will discuss what kiva sniffs. I took her on a walk and recorded the location and items that Kiva sniffed. I have a list so far and maybe it was only ever be a list. I kinda like it.

They want me to sell cars.
